Role of Media 

We cannot hold media solely responsible for most of the killers who got inspired by a fictional character and started killing in the same manner because then everyone in this world who watch these characters would have started to kill, but without any debate, it is a motivation for many of them, As absurd as it sounds there is enough evidence  which suggests that some people are impressed by fictional television shows and tried to copy them the upcoming details are taken from the news reports in summaries form  as it is not possible to cover all of the reported cases, because of its vastness if we tried to cover all of them it will require a blog of its own

1.     In 1996, Thierry Jaradin’s (24) neighbor Alisson Cambier(15 ) dropped in for a chat. Jaradin made sexual advances and was rejected by Alisson. He went to the next room to grab the Ghostface mask and black robes – and then stabbed Alisson 30 times like in the movie "Screams"

2.     In 2010, a Wisconsin man (dressed as Joker) assaulted his cousin and girlfriend (copying the movie The Dark Night) when he found them sleeping. in a similar case In 2009, a young girl attacked her teacher with a razor blade. Her face had been painted in a similar way to the Joker.

3.     In 2012, a man who called himself Luka Magnotta murdered Jun Lin (student of Concordia University). The killing took place in a manner of movies “Basic Instinct”, “American Psycho”, “Casablanca” and “Catch Me If You Can”.he even used posters of these movies in the background of the crime while recording videos and posted them online.

4.     In 2011, Daniel Bartlam (14 years old) killed his mother Jacqueline Bartlam by hammering her to death, just like it was shown in “Coronation Street” police found the videos of scenes of John Stape (character ) butchering his victims with the hammer and also found videos on getting away with murders Daniel's computer

5.      In 2008, Mark Twitchell  was a fan of Dexter and killed trapped two men and tried to kill them accordingly, One of them was killed, while the other escaped and was convinced of murder

6.     More than 10 murders have been linked to a movie called “Natural Born Killers” In 1995, for instance, two lovers Sarah Edmondson (19) and Benjamin James Darras (18) watched this movie again and again by staying up all night,  then went off on a road trip packed with blankets and, shooting two people along the way – one of whom died and the other was brutally injured.

7.     In 2003, Joshua cooke (19)  shot his adoptive parents in cold blood, He later told the media that he believed he was in “the Matrix”

8.  Even one copy cat attacked President Ronald Reagan in 1981, the assassination only managed to wounded him. Three more members of the president’s staff were wounded as well his name was John Hinckley Jr.  later proved he had nothing against him the only came from a movie called "The Taxi Driver"

9. in 2004, Daniel Gonzalez (Inspired by Freddy Krueger in A Nightmare on Elm Street) went on a spree killing, he killed four victims, while injuring a few more.

10. In 2012, James Eagan Holmes, attacked with a gun,12  people were killed and more than 70 injured and was inspired by The Dark Knight Rises. Later the killer told the cops, “I’m the Joker,”

11. in 2994, Michael Hernandez (14) stabbed his classmate Jamie Gough (14) inspired by the movies "The American Psycho" and "The silence of The Lambs".

These people which I will show in great details who has killed by copying the movies have done it because of obvious reasons like they show the character very attractive, mentally sharp, charming, focused e.t.c. people tend to change themselves to become what they think is better and it is the nature of humans to want to leave an “imprint on the society”
